We are delighted to welcome two outstanding people, both of whom are experienced physicians and Rotarians, to the board of Rotarian Malaria Partners Uganda.
Dr. Bildad Baguma, joins RMPU’s Board of Directors with over two decades of professional experience in the medical field. He holds a Masters in Business Administration and Bachelors of Medicine and Surgery, both attained from Makerere university Kampala. He also holds a Graduate Diploma in Procurement & Supply Chain Management CIPS UK and Certificates in Health Emergencies in Large Populations (HELP) Course from John Hopkins University USA and Leading Profitable Organizations from Harvard Business School.
Currently the Executive Director of Joint Medical Stores, a position he has held since 2015, Dr. Baguma previously worked with the Uganda Red Cross Society as Program Officer-Integrated Health Program and Deputy Secretary General-Head of programs and operations, Uganda Red Cross Society heading the Health and Care department as Senior Health Coordinator, J.O.Y. Medical Center-Kampala as a Medical Director, having started his career at Mulago National Referral Hospital as a Medical Officer in 1996.
He is the President of Rotary Club of Muyenga 2020-2021, Dr. Baguma brings a wealth of governance experience as a member on various Board; Malaria Free Uganda, National Drug Authority, Tondeka Metro Company Ltd, Family Holdings and Standard College Ntungamo, Standard Junior Primary school and a Chairman Doctors’ Choice Ltd.
Dr. Florence A. Egwau is the Senior Consultant Pediatrician heading the Pediatric Ward at Soroti Regional Referral Hospital, where she has worked for the past 20years. She attained her Masters Degree in Medicine (Pediatrics) and Bachelors of Medicine and Surgery from Makerere University Kampala, with a Post Graduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management from Uganda Management Institute.
Over the past 20 years at Soroti Regional Referral Hospital, she has held responsibility as In-charge of HIV/AIDS activities, National trainer in Pediatric HIV/AIDS care and Co-PI in hospital Clinical trials. Currently she is also the Chairperson, Rewards and Sanction committee of the hospital.
She joins the Board as a an experienced Rotarian, having held the positions of the President of the Rotary club of Soroti Central 2013-2014 and Assistant Governor Eastern Zone 2, 2015-2017.
