Last month, Rotary Districts 5030 and 5080 held a joint District Conference in Spokane, Washington. The highlight of the event was on the final day of the conference, when Rotary International president Barry Rassin and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation co-chair Bill Gates gave keynote addresses. Malaria Partners International was there as well, represented by Frank Boosman, Linda Cheever, Steve Crane, Charley Dickey, Bill Feldt, Larry Granat, Jim Moore, and others.

Frank was the speaker at a breakout session on malaria, at the conclusion of which David Kay of the Rotary Club of Spokane 21 announced his club would be donating $10,000 to Malaria Partners International’s Copperbelt II project. We made numerous contacts with clubs across District 5080 and are hopeful that many of these contacts will lead to ongoing relationships and funding in the future.
